Siân Hughes Children's Author

Author Bio

Siân Hughes draws upon the magic she encountered during her early teaching days, where she was inspired by the fantastical landscapes of Maurice Sendak's ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ and the vibrant illustrations of Korky Paul, in Valerie Thomas’s, ‘Winnie the Witch’ series.

Fuelled by a passion for sparking young imaginations, Siân crafts stories that capture the essence of childhood, transforming them into captivating tales that resonate with young readers.

Siân works closely with her illustrator, Elina Oplakanska, as she has always been inspired by illustrations. Sian set up scenes for her first story, “Nell the Mouse”, a few years ago and started sharing pictures on Instagram.
